Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in an intense La Liga game at Camp Nou. Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the game just before half-time, with a well-placed shot beyond Jan Oblak.
Although Barcelona dominated possession, they struggled to break down Atletico’s counter-attacks. Antoine Griezmann came close to scoring against his former team, but his shot hit the bar.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen made a good save to deny Griezmann later on. Rodrigo de Paul missed a great chance to equalize for Atletico.
Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski had a few opportunities to extend the lead, but failed to convert. The referee handed out several yellow cards in the later stages of the game, but Barcelona held on for the win.
